Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DostMilo collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data, and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Data we collect
- Public profile: display name, age band, approximate area, activities, languages, verification badge, aggregate rating, and photos you choose to upload.
- Identity and age verification: verification outcome and references. Raw identity documents are kept only for the minimum window our verification provider requires.
- Private preferences: optional gender and Pride Circle preferences, stored separately and privately.
- Meetups and safety: requests, bookings, check-in records, trusted-contact details and safety events.
- Payments: membership and transaction references — not your card or UPI credentials.
- Location: coarse area for discovery, and precise location only during an active safety feature.
- Device and usage: technical information used for security and fraud prevention.
2. How we use your data
To operate matching, chat, venue recommendations and safety features; to verify age and identity; to prevent fraud and abuse; to process payments; to meet legal obligations; and to improve the service.
3. Location minimisation
DostMilo uses location information to suggest nearby profiles, calculate appropriate public meeting areas, provide venue recommendations and operate safety features. Other users are not shown your precise residential location. Where precise location is required for an active safety feature, we collect and retain it only as necessary for the stated purpose, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
4. Pride Circle and sensitive preferences
Pride Circle and related matching preferences are optional. Where you choose to provide such information, DostMilo processes it only for the matching, privacy and community features you request. Such information is private by default, is not used to target advertising, and is not made public unless you expressly choose to display it. We never infer sexual orientation from your photos, contacts, messages or activity.
5. Your rights and choices
You can, within the app:
- Access and export a copy of your data (Settings → Privacy → Export my data).
- Correct your profile information at any time.
- Delete your account (Settings → Privacy → Delete account).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing.

6. Data retention

7. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, separation of sensitive data, and audit logging of privileged access. No system is perfectly secure, and you share responsibility for protecting your credentials.
8. Sharing
We share data with service providers (for example, verification, maps and payments) under contract, and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data, and we never share Pride Circle preferences for advertising.
9. Breach notification
In the event of a personal-data breach, we will act in accordance with applicable law, including notifying the relevant authority and affected users where required.
